LATEST NEWS

Check out this month's latest news from Greg...

Do you feel 2020 has not been a good year so far? Fed up getting garrulous in the Gazebo?

We have some cheery news. The “W Rate” at Rhubarb Lime has increased with 4 new fabulous wines in stock.

Unfortunately, these wines are too dangerous to sell you by the glass just now in our cosy Cafe. However, you can buy a bottle so that you can sit outside in the freezing cold with a pal.

Allegrini’s Amarone - Della Valpolicella Classico 2016 is a snip at £63. Amarone as it should be. Smoother than the “Sommelier’s” pre-lockdown patter.

Lenotti’s “Le Olle” Bardolino Superiore at £16.20 has just won two gold awards. Think baby Amarone, as you toast chestnuts outside with your pal and look longingly inside at your empty lounge with its fire on.

Fontodi’s “Dino” is a delightful Tuscan Sangiovese being vinified and macerated in Amphera. At 15% ABV it’s a cheeky little steak number. At £35 it makes a lovely steak wine. Balsamic herbal aromas with hints of sweet tobacco and cherry. Yum yum.

Ca dei Frati’s Ronchedone” Vino Rosso 2017 brings Lake Garda to Kippen. This gorgeous Marzamino, Sangiovese and Cabernet blend is powerful, incisive, “balsamic” and jammy. 14.5% ABV so go easy with “game of feather or fur” (plagiarised from CDF’s web site). Only £25.75. Fascinating.

Thank you for your tremendous loyalty and kindness this year. To the good times and wine tasting nights at Rhubarb Lime. Remember them?

Shona and Greg.
